Yes, I’m a chocoholic and have been for years. I eat the 85% stuff, because there’s actually a low of research showing the health benefits of dark chocolate. I would eat 600 kcals of dark chocolate when in the best shape of my life.
I didn’t eat dark chocolate because it was healthy. There was a neurochemical effect, which is a fancy way of saying FEELING or BUZZ. Dark chocolate makes me feel good.
And there’s a reason for this feel-good effect. The answer is in PEA – which is short for phenylethylamine.
PEA is a trace amine whose molecular mechanism of action differs from biogenic amines, such as serotonin or dopamine. Especially low or high concentrations of PEA may be associated with specific psychological disorders. For those disorders that are characterized by low PEA levels (e.g. attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), PEA has been suggested as a ‘safe’ alternative to drugs, such as amphetamine or methylphenidate, which are accompanied by many undesirable side effects.
Dopamine is the “motivation” chemical. If you have higher levels of dopa, you’ll accomplish more. If you have lower levels, you’ll lay around all day doing nothing.
Using a brain mapping technique called positron emission tomography (PET scan), the researchers found that “go-getters” who are willing to work hard for rewards had higher release of the neurotransmitter dopamine in areas of the brain known to play an important role in reward and motivation, the striatum and ventromedial prefrontal cortex. On the other hand, “slackers” who are less willing to work hard for a reward had high dopamine levels in another brain area that plays a role in emotion and risk perception, the anterior insula.
Phenylethylamine boosts dopamine levels, as shown in, “β-phenylethylamine Requires the Dopamine Transporter to Increase Extracellular Dopamine in C. elegans Dopaminergic Neurons.”
β-phenylethylamine (βPEA) is an endogenous amine that has been shown to increase the synaptic levels of dopamine (DA)
Perhaps, although there’s a problem.
Phenylethylamine has a half-life of between 5 and 15 minutes. (Half-life is the amount of time it takes for a chemical to lose 50% of its effectiveness.)
This also explains why people keep eating chocolate. You get a PEA spike, which is fleeting. More chocolate. More PEA. You chase the dragon.
Supplementing with PEA alone doesn’t have much effect, as any results are exceedingly short-lived.
Around 5 or 10 years ago the bros started experimenting with a hordenine / PEA stack.
Hordenine is a plant compound that naturally occurs in beer, and some research suggests hordenine contributes to the mood-boosting effects of beer.
Moreover, hordenine antagonised D2-mediated β-arrestin recruitment indicating functional selectivity. Application of our databases provides new perspectives for the discovery of bioactive food constituents using VS methods. Based on its presence in beer, we suggest that hordenine significantly contributes to mood-elevating effects of beer.
On fitness and bodybuilding forums, users hypothesized that hordenine would inhibit the breakdown of PEA. Their results were remarkable. The effects of PEA were extended.
The bros (and I) take 250 to 500 mgs of PEA and 15 to 25 mgs of hordenine together. This stack keeps my mood elevated.
Hordenine and PEA are sold as a “stack” on Amazon as a mood booster and weight loss agent, although the weight loss angle strikes me as a stretch. In theory any mood booster may cause you to eat less if your caloric intake is due to seeking sugar-like rushes.
Hordenine and PEA are also in the top focusing agent available today – Gorilla Mind Smooth.
Each capsule of Smooth contains 75 mgs of Phenylethylamine and 5 mgs of hordenine.
As part of my morning routine, I take 3 capsules of Gorilla Mind Smooth with a double espresso. This combination gives me extreme focus without any jitters.
I’ve used supplements since my early 20s. I’ve tried it all because, having grown up poor, “normal” for me meant being broke.
Normal for a lot of other people is a middle class life, although people are starting to see that you can’t settle. The jobs are gone. You figure out a way to make it in life or you’re screwed.
People seem to get really triggered when I write about my experiences.
I wish those people wouldn’t read me, and one of my biggest problems is getting rid of angry political people who don’t want to take care of themselves and who have no desire to optimize their lives.
I can understand that not everyone wants to live as I do. That’s totally cool.
But why do people get triggered and scream at me for not wanting to settle for a normal life.
And the truth is that all of the most creative and successful people are using LSD, DMT, taking supplements, and many event use prescription medication.
And if you don’t know that Jezz Bezos is on Testosterone Replacement Therapy, you need to shed your childhood illusions. Grow up.
I’m currently getting back into fighting shape.
Breaking news increased cortisol levels, leading to muscle mass loss and fat gain. There’s a reason journalists don’t look that healthy. This business is not good for you.
I’ve been fat, fit, and jacked.
And right now I’m sloppy. The good news is that I know how to completely alter my body in 12 to 16 weeks.
Being jacked is the best way to go through life.
And if you have a problem with my life, you can be an adult and ignore what you don’t like.
Gorilla Mind is offering the best line of products today, and that’s not my ego. I don’t formulate anything.
There’s also a skincare line, and a sleep aid.
The withdrawals were miserable. I had moderate to severe head aches and zero energy. My sex drive was also zero. Although the Internet said caffeine withdrawals only last 2-5 days, I was worthless for 3 days and not on my game for about three weeks.
I quit caffeine because of addiction. Too much caffeine leads to adrenal fatigue – which is a junk science term with some basis in fact. Too many stimulants “burns you out,” or however you want to say.
And I’d been addicted to caffeine at various points in life. During my late 20’s I’d drink 6 to 8 sugar free Red Bulls a day. I’d buy them by the case at Costco.
Coffee for me is a pleasurable experience. Pour overs only, fine single origin blends. Friends would be in awe as I’d take down pour overs and then shots shots shots shots shots shots. When visiting friends in Italy they said, “No one drinks cappuccinos like this.”
Shauna would search hotels when we travelled Europe based on whether they had a Nespresso machine.
When I lived in Paris, I felt bad for the cafe owner when moving out.
I was paying a large chunk of his rent for the three months I lived there. One (double) pour over upon arrival, sparkling water afterwards, and then a nice quiche with another pour over in the afternoon.
And in Vietnam I had my go-to spot. Each morning I’d hop onto a moto and travel to The Workshop Coffee in District 1 of Hoh Chin Minh.
Today my caffeine consumption is limited. I’ll have an iced coffee (cold brew actually, the stuff called “ice coffee” is swill) in the morning, and maybe something in the afternoon.
To keep my caffeine low, I asked a company to formulate a nootropic without any caffeine. I figured it would sell like wild.
Gorilla Mind thus launched two versions of a nootropic called Rush and Smooth. Rush had caffeine, and Smooth used TeaCrine (TM), a non-stimulant stimulant.
The free market, as you know, doesn’t care about your opinion. Rush has flown off the shelves, and is almost out of stock. Smooth is underselling Rush by 3-to-1. Why?
Heavy rain outside sets the stage for an evening of deep work.

When people take an energy drink or nootropic, they want to FEEL a rush, and that rush is usually a kick of caffeine and some B12. While caffeine and B12 give you a short term energy boost, they aren’t impressive.
Anyhow, all of this is a long way of saying that Smooth is on sale for 50% off for the next 48 hours.
Once people take Smooth, they love it. They talk about working for hours with intense focus. When they take Smooth in the afternoon, it doesn’t keep them up at night.
But we have to grab people by the collars and say, “Try Smooth!” Actually, no, that wouldn’t work.
We have to persuade people to try Smooth, and a sale does the trick.
I didn’t formulate it, and was a total prima donna. I kept having them send me sample after sample until the right one hit me.
I’ve tried everything, and nothing over-the-counter worked like Smooth.
While noticing intense focus, I also felt a bit more upbeat, and that surprised me. Unbeknownst to me, there was a mood-elevating compound in Smooth.
Bacopa Monnieri: Used as an anti-aging supplement that protects neurons in the brain from accumulative damage, Bacopa Monnieri acts as an antioxidant, cognitive enhancer, and neuroprotectant. By increasing kinase activity in the brain, a faster rate of transmission is achieved which enhances mood, mental energy, information absorption/recall, memory, and reduces anxiety, as well as joint and muscle pain [15,16].
Smooth also contains
It’s an intense product.
In the morning I take 3 Smooth with an iced coffee or espresso.
If I happen to lift in the afternoon or have a meeting, I take another 2-3.
On days when I have to be AMPED UP, I take 1-2 Rush and 3 Smooth.
(That’s rare, and people can tell when I’m on both. It’s a bit too intense for most social interactions, and is more of a “pre-workout” vibe.)
Gorilla Mind has several products including a sleep aid and skincare serum.

While it's not as powerful as Modafinil, the stuff is one damn good smart drug and cheap as can be.

Going to pop some Gorilla Mind before trekking through the swamp this morning.
It'll be interesting, I'll report back.

Not everyone wants to have extreme focus, and that’s cool.
Well it’s not cool. How would you still be reading if you didn’t want the most out of your your life?
Proving that the free market knows better than all of us, the #1 seller at Gorilla Mind is the skincare serum.
Sale ends today! Guys, you need this and you just don’t know it. I have my own routine. Sun ruins your face. All colors. Girls, you already know what’s up.

Similar products go for $30 to $50 at Trade Joe’s and Whole Foods, and $150 or more at spas.
The Serum goes for $12.99 and three for under thirty.
Maybe I am throwing stones from a glass house. Regardless, we all know that the Internet has become “too big,” and it’s hard to find like-minded people with shared goals.
I’ve found a solution to that challenge. We are going to create our own private mindset group.
This will be unlike other groups because everyone who received an invite has been vetted in some way.
Membership in the private group is included with the pre-order of The Power of Mindset Master Class.
People who have attended a seminar in person will also be welcome in the group.
Because everyone in the group has either met me in person or taken the video course, I don’t anticipate too much drama, and our rules will be simple.
1. No politics.
That means no politics. No discussion of how some candidate is ruining the economy. Besides, politics isn’t mindset related. We want to know how YOU can improve your life.
2. Respect for all points of views, including religions.
No one in the group should be preaching, but if someone is talking about challenges during Ramadan, that’s cool. And I don’t want to hear anyone attacking religions.
3. All genders welcome.
For some reason, people ask if women are allowed at seminars. About 30% of my readership is female. Of course women will be welcome, everyone is.
And I will have a zero tolerance policy for nonsense. If I am going to commit myself to a smaller group, why in the world would I tolerate the type of drama I’m avoiding?
Everyone who has pre-ordered The Power of Mindset Master Class will receive an invite to the private group.
The group will be ready in a week or two. I’ll send out invitations once we are fully ready.
(I may invite a select group of early testers for the program. If you already pre-ordered the course and want in now, email me. Keep in mind that we’ll be working out bugs together, so it won’t be perfect.)
If you’ve attended a mindset seminar and would like an invite, reply to this email, and I’ll check my records for your name. You’ll be sent an invitation once the group is set up.
This feature is going to be a lot of value, and it’s also where you’ll find me more often.
I’ve expressed my desire to leave social media before, and it’s a sincere desire. In a way I can’t leave yet as people lie about me and I have to fight the false narrative.
But it’s a time suck. The ROI is negative, and I’d rather talk to like-minded, upbeat, motivated people.
Pre-order the course and you’ll receive an invite soon.
Hope to see you there!
P.S. I’ve been taking 3 to 4 Gorilla Dream for the best night of sleep ever. It really is the best on the market. You can find it here.
What is your deepest fear and how can you face it?
Is it possible to reinvent yourself through the power of story?
What is a Strange Loop, and what does it have to do with mindset?
We spared no expense for this course, as I want everyone to be blown away.
I prepared for hundreds of hours, and spend thousands of hours of living life to learn this material, and to apply it to life.
We shot it professionally. Yes, this stuff should look cool.
The trend for these courses is professional shot with an intimate vibe.
You can watch a sample clip here:
One, you want the material right now, rather than having to wait for the final cut.
Two, you want to be able to buy a Group or Private call, as those will sell out.
Yes, I will be offering a Group call and also a Private call during the pre-order period.
I turn down consulting requests often, and before today, the only way to get a call with me was to attend an in-person seminar.
As rewarding as one-on-one work is, it would take up all of my time to work with people.
With your purchase of the Master Class, you’ll have the option to upgrade to a group call.
These group calls be kept limited to under 12 people, and this option will close once we are sold out.
The video uploaded right now is the full course, which a lot of people prefer, as you can play it in the background.
Some people are even downloading the audio from the video course, and listening to that on their smart phones and other devices.
It’s up to you how you listen to and / or watch the course.
This is sort of table of contents for the master class.
1. “Stop Worrying”
2. The Strange Loop
3. What is Mindset?
5. The Click and The Snap
6. The Power of Self Talk
7. Focus and Framing
15. What does Gorilla Mindset mean? (Book Design and Marketing)
16. How Do You Physically Re-Write Memories?
17. What if everyone believes they can shape reality?
18. How do you pick yourself up out of being down?
If you’d like a private video call with me, the only way to obtain this is by pre-ordering the course.
Thank you everyone, for all you do!
Sometimes we discuss business, other times we talk about specific mindset challenges. It depends on what you are looking for.
Some people have successful online businesses, and want to learn some copywriting tips, or they want me to take a look at their ad copy or pages.
Others are successful in many areas of life, and need a push in the right direction in one specific area.
Others have tremendous challenges, which means they have the most opportunity to grow.
We filmed the master class with a “live set” vibe. I had material to cover, and the crowd would guide me to topics they wanted to cover.
Here are some comments from the live set group:
